This special edition is dedicated to the upcoming European Elections between June 6 and 9. As a monumental democratic event, the European Elections invite citizens of the European Union to elect the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), who will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Union, influencing laws and policies.

ANTONIA CARPARELLI
Lecturer at Lumsa University on Governance and Policies of the European Union. Carparelli is an economist who worked for several years at the European Commission, holding several positions at top management level. She has written various scientific and informational articles on European issues.

Full Professor of Political Science and Vice-Rector at the University of Catania and Member of the Executive Committee of the International Political Science Association, specializing in the functioning of the EU's political system, particularly executive-legislative relations, EU migration, EU policy against organized crime, and security policies.

MONICA CLAES
Professor of European and Comparative Constitutional Law at the Law Faculty of Maastricht University. Monica’s main areas of interest are the relationship between European and national constitutional law, the development of European constitutional space, common constitutional principles, and the concept of national constitutional identity.
OANA GOGA
Computer scientist at CNRS working on problems related to AI and society. Based on her research, she has worked with civil societies and European lawmakers to propose evidence-based legal measures.
JANNE MENDE
Political scientist specializing in International Relations and senior Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. In her Research Group MAGGI (“The Multiplication of Authorities in Global Governance Institutions”), she analyzes the governance authority of state, inter-state, and non-state actors in the United Nations and the European Union.
ANGELIKA SCHEUER
Deputy Director Scientific at the European Social Survey ESS ERIC (Leibniz Institute of the Social Sciences). She is an expert in International Survey Research and Comparative analysis of public opinion. Her research interests focus on the comparison of values, attitudes and behaviors across the EU as well as attitudes towards the EU.
DORTE SINDBJERG MARTINSEN
Political scientist at the Centre for European Politics at the University of Copenhagen. She researches EU integration and Europeanisation, focusing on welfare policies, free movement of persons, the dynamics between law and politics in the EU, as well as implementation, enforcement, and compliance with EU policies.
IDOIA ARREAZA AGUILERA
Political scientist with experience in regional and national Spanish institutions, electoral data analysis, and the nonprofit sector. PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Valencia. Contributor to campaigns and media analysis on COVID-19. Her research focuses on party coalitions and young voters' behaviors.
IRENE BELMONTE MARTIN
Political Science professor and researcher at UMH's Gender Studies Center. Focuses on public administration challenges, particularly local revenue management. Her research also covered public policy analysis, welfare system studies in Spain from a comparative perspective, development cooperation, and gender studies in political behavior.
NATHALIE BRACK
Nathalie Brack's research interests include the European institutions and how they operate, as well as European elections, with a particular focus on Belgium.

For the first time in Belgium, 16-year-olds will be able to vote in the forthcoming European elections. Laura Uyttendaele’s research interests include young people's political attitudes, voting from the age of 16, political information initiatives for young people, and ways of raising young people's political awareness.

Emilie van Haute is a professor of political science at the ULB in Brussels. Her research focuses on political parties, elections, political participation and representation.

AGNÈS LEROUX
European policy specialist with over 10 years' experience in Brussels. After a traineeship in the Secretariat-General of the European Commission, she worked for a number of public affairs and communications consultancies on a variety of topics, including transport (drones, shared mobility), industrial policy and digital technology.

Director of the Paris office of the think tank European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). She follows France's European and foreign policy, as well as efforts to build a foreign policy at European level. She is particularly interested in security issues in Europe and Asia (especially India and the Indo-Pacific region).
